Lady Gaga 'Already Working' On Born This Way Follow-Up
Singer's manager hopes Gaga will release next LP for free.

This may not come as a shock to anyone who's marveled at her multitasking ways, but just four months after the release of her Born This Way album, says she's already working on the follow-up, which she says will be released "sooner rather than later."
That's what she told Ryan Seacrest just before the iHeartRadio festival in Las Vegas, adding that the new disc is just one of many projects she's juggling at the moment.
"I'm actually already working on my next album," she said. "So I've been working on that. I've been planning the next tour, which keeps me very excited and busy because I have lots of new ideas, and I know exactly how I want it to look. I'm also planning my next music video. I have lots of things to do, but in truth, I feel like I'm the most alive when I'm onstage."
And while there's still no release date (or any concrete information) on Gaga's next album, her manager, Troy Carter, recently suggested that, if he has his way, Gaga might give the record away for free.
Check out photos of Lady Gaga and others at the iHeartRadio festival.
"If it was up to me, I'd give away the next album and put it on every handset that I can put it on," Carter said last week at the f8 conference in San Francisco. "You can't be scared to fail. Sometimes we're going to get big results, and sometimes you learn a lesson, make an adjustment and move on."
Gaga made waves back in May with the multitude of methods she promoted Born This Way, including a much-discussed 99-cent pricing scheme with Amazon.com, which temporarily crashed the site.
A spokesperson for Gaga's label could not be reached for comment by MTV News about the new album.

As if the Twitter back-and-forth weren't enough to get fans excited for their Christmas-themed collaboration, MTV News now has photo evidence of Justin Bieber and Boyz II Men singer Shawn Stockman in the studio together.
In the photo, both guys are seen looking casual in baseball caps and T-shirts. They shared a high-five in the studio, which was even decorated with Christmas lights.
The guys had a bit of a Twittermance post-session that had the veteran Boyz reminding the teen phenom to never forget the wisdom they shared with him. And whatever that advice was, it certainly made an impression on Bieber. "I'm not gonna forget. THANK U!!" he tweeted.
Bieber has a busy fall ahead of him. As he readies the release of his Christmas album, he's also getting ready to hit the road in South America and Mexico. "Back in the studio putting the finishing touches on this Christmas album and getting the tour stuff together," he tweeted.
The tour will kick off later this month in Mexico and will make its way around South America, including stops in Brazil and Argentina. He'll wrap up the stint at the end of October. He's pretty much off the road until December and January, when he has two stops planned in Illinois.
"Seeing all the love for the S AMERICAN fans ... tour is less than a month away. Who got tickets in BRAZIL? in Argentina? in Mexico? in Chile?" he tweeted.

Michael Jackson Manslaughter Trial Begins Jury Selection
Dr. Conrad Murray faces charges he administrated lethal dose of sedatives to Jackson.

It's been more than two years since Michael Jackson's death shocked the world on the eve of the pop icon's planned comeback tour. In the time since, the focus has turned to the King of Pop's personal physician, Dr. Conrad Murray, who officials claim administered the lethal combination of sedatives that ended Jackson's life at age 50.
On Thursday (September 8), jury selection began in Los Angeles in Murray's manslaughter trial, which promises to grab headlines for the next month as prosecutors aim to pin the "Thriller" singer's death on a series of actions Murray allegedly took in the hours before Jackson's passing.
No cameras will be allowed inside the courtroom for the trial, which will begin as soon as 12 impartial jurors can be found, a task that will likely be challenging given the worldwide attention Jackson's death generated.
Jackson died on June 25, 2009, after suffering cardiac arrest at his rented Hollywood mansion. The Los Angeles County coroner's office ruled that the 50-year-old singer died of "acute propofol intoxication" in combination with the use of sedatives. Authorities have claimed that cardiologist Murray administered a lethal dose of the surgical anesthetic to chronic insomniac Jackson in an attempt to help him get to sleep. Murray was charged with involuntary manslaughter last February in connection with Jackson's death and has pleaded not guilty in the case. The doctor is out on $75,000 bail and faces up to four years in prison and the revocation of his medical license if convicted.
After taking care of Jackson and the singer's children in his hometown of Las Vegas, Murray was hired by the pop star to be his personal physician in the lead-up to a series of 50 comeback shows at the O2 Arena in London dubbed This Is It. Murray was by Jackson's side the night he died and has admitted to administering several doses of propofol and other sedatives to his client, but his lawyers have said that the physician did not give the fatal push of medication.
Instead, they reportedly are planning to argue that Jackson — a chronic insomniac who was allegedly addicted to a deadly cocktail of strong sedatives in order to get rest — gave himself the final dose while Murray was out of the room.
According to a Reuters report, in the first three days of the oft-delayed trial more than 480 potential jurors will be brought through the court house. They will be given a 30-page, 117-question survey seeking their past experience with prescription drugs, doctors, celebrities, news outlets, law enforcement and queries about their DVD collections, according to NBC Los Angeles.
Among the questions on an earlier version of the questionnaire: "Have you ever considered yourself a fan of Michael Jackson or the Jackson family?," "Did you ever watch [the Jackson documentary] 'This Is It'?" and "What Internet sites or blogs, if any, do you visit on a regular basis?"
The pool will be cut down to 100 potential jurors who will return for more questioning later this month. The trial is expected to last five weeks, with opening arguments set for September 27.

'I probably felt at that time that I was rebelling and I could associate myself with that,' Weezy tells MTV News of Seattle grunge band.
By Rob Markman
Long before Lil Wayne was living his rock-star dreams onstage, he was at home — like many other kids his age — rocking out to Nirvana.
"I was a real big fan of that," Weezy told MTV News' Sway after his MTV "Unplugged" taping earlier this year.
The multiplatinum rapper — who released his first rock-inspired album Rebirth in 2010 — recalled the impact that Krist Novoselic, Dave Grohl and Kurt Cobain had on him. It all started with The Box, a now-defunct cable station that was fueled by fans' phoned-in music video requests. For Wayne, it was rare to see a rock and roll video, especially one that he could identify with. " 'Smells Like Teen Spirit' was one of the only rock songs that would come on, and you'll be like, 'That one is OK, I can deal with that one,' " he recalled.
On Saturday, the Seattle grunge band's breakout album, Nevermind, turns 20. And while singles like "Come as You Are," "Lithium" and "In Bloom" helped make Nevermind a classic, it was "Smells Like Teen Spirit" that made music fans across the world take notice. Nirvana was bigger than just rock.
Maybe it was the loud guitars, the punk-style wardrobe or Cobain's long hair, but something attracted Wayne when he first saw the video as a kid in 1991. Interestingly enough, the Cash Money Billionaire now plays guitar, dresses with a punk-inspired swag and swings his long dreads onstage. But if you let Weezy tell it, it's the lyrics to "Teen Spirit" that he most identified with.
"Because I was young and I actually listened to the lyrics, and I probably felt at that time that I was rebelling and I could associate myself with that and relate to the things [Cobain] was talking about and speaking about in the song," Tunechi remembered. "I probably couldn't, but I thought I could."

Daniel Craig 'Hopes' Ralph Fiennes, Javier Bardem Join 'Bond 23'
'I'm as excited about this script as I was about the 'Casino Royale' script,' he tells MTV News.

This summer in Montana, while Daniel Craig was promoting "Cowboys & Aliens," the actor steered clear of any casting news relating to "Bond 23," declining to confirm to MTV News long-standing rumors that Ralph Fiennes and Javier Bardem were getting set to join the action flick.
A few months later, while promoting "The Adventures of Tintin," Craig was in more of a giving mood, letting us know that he's keeping his fingers crossed that Fiennes and Bardem are on set when production on "Bond 23" kicks off in early October.
"I hope so," he said about the two actors. "I hope so."
Bardem confirmed back in February that he was in talks to play a villain in the flick, while rumors have been floating since early in the year that Fiennes was looking to take on an unspecified role. In July, MTV News shot down reports that "Amazing Spider-Man" villain Rhys Ifans had also signed up for "Bond 23," with the actor telling us, "No, I just have a license to kill."
According to Craig, the way "Bond 23" is coming together has him the most excited about the franchise since he took on the iconic spy role years ago.
"We've got a great script this time," he told us. "I'm as excited about this script as I was about the 'Casino Royale' script. I think in Sam [Mendes] we've got the perfect director. The cast is coming together now. I can't wait to get going on it."

Eminem The 'Perfect Boss' For Slaughterhouse
'When he comes in and listens to songs, it's not to critique them; it's to listen,' Joell Ortiz tells MTV News.
By Rob Markman

NEW YORK — For hip-hop supergroup Slaughterhouse, chemistry is key — not just among the group, but with label CEO Eminem as well. So while Royce Da 5'9", Joell Ortiz, Crooked I and Joe Budden are busy working on their Shady debut, they are also getting to know Marshall on a personal level.
On the creative side of things, Em is keeping his distance, choosing to let SH find their way during the initial recording process.
"He's kinda walking eggshells around us creatively. He's telling us basically, 'Do exactly what y'all did last time. We're just gonna do it on a bigger level. Y'all don't need me to make records; y'all can do that,' " Royce said backstage at Rock the Bells of Slim Shady's involvement. "It's more of a bonding thing. They all play basketball at the studio, and it's just them getting to know him better and making his comfort level high with them, because he met them when we signed the deal."
In January, it was announced that Eminem had signed not only Slaughterhouse, but upstart rapper Yelawolf as well, when they all appeared on the cover of XXL magazine. Before the deal, Royce was the only member of Slaughterhouse with an Eminem relationship; the two have since released their Bad Meets Evil EP this past June.
"He's a great person, and I think that's one of the things that makes me most excited about the project," Joe Budden remarked. "Being with him, you just totally forget that he's one of the dopest rappers and he's so successful. He's a great person, and he's still a humungous fan of the culture and very much in tune with what's happening."
Joell echoed a similar sentiment: "He really is a fan too, though. He's a fan of Slaughterhouse. When he comes in and listens to songs, it's not to critique them; it's to listen."
Like Em, SH are celebrated for their complex lyricism. It is that lyrical dexterity where the quartet's bond with their CEO lies. "Me, personally, I really like getting his input. If I got five, 10 minutes to holla at him on something that I want to holla about, I'm just gonna seek input," Crooked I said. "It's a lot of artists out there that are signed to super-mega-stars and they can't even have that conversation."
There isn't a set date for Slaughterhouse's upcoming album, but during his "RapFix Live" appearance in August, Royce hoped to have a first single out by December.
No matter the release, as of now, Slaughterhouse believe Shady is the perfect label for them. "I just feel like he's the perfect boss for this group, and we couldn't have a better home," Ortiz said.
What are you expecting from Slaughterhouse's Shady debut? Let us know in the comments!
Justin Bieber, Lady Gaga, Katy Perry Nab MTV EMA Nods
Gaga leads Europe Music Awards nominees with six nods, including Best Video and Biggest Fans at November 6 show.
By Jocelyn Vena
Lady Gaga is ruling the 2011 MTV Europe Music Awards nominees list.
Mother Monster, who nabbed six EMA nominations, is followed by Katy Perry and Bruno Mars with four noms; Adele, Justin Bieber and Thirty Seconds to Mars are each up for three.
Gaga is up for Best Female, Best Live Act, Best Pop Act, Best Song and Best Video for "Born This Way." She scored the sixth nom in the Biggest Fans category, an honor she'll share with her Little Monsters if she wins.
American and Canadian audiences can vote for the North American nominee for the Worldwide Act award, who will represent the continent at the EMAs against contenders from across the globe.
So, who will go head-to-head with the superstar? Adele's unstoppable "Rolling in the Deep," Bruno Mars' "Grenade," Jennifer Lopez's "On the Floor" (featuring Pitbull) and Katy Perry's "Firework" will go up against Gaga for Best Song.
For Best Pop, Britney Spears, Bieber, Perry, Rihanna and Gaga are set to face off, while Adele, Beyoncé, J.Lo, Katy and Gaga also made the final cut for Best Female.
Battling it out in the Best Male category are Bruno Mars, David Guetta, Bieber, Kanye West and Eminem, who's also up for Best Hip Hop alongside Lil Wayne, Jay-Z and Kanye West (a.k.a. the Throne), Pitbull and Snoop Dogg.
Coldplay, the Foo Fighters, Linkin Park, Kings of Leon and Red Hot Chili Peppers are up for Best Rock. And the night's big prize, Best Video, features the most eclectic mix of nominees: Adele's "Rolling in the Deep," the Beastie Boys' "Make Some Noise," Beyoncé's "Run the World (Girls)," Justice's "Civilization" and Gaga's "Born This Way."
On Monday morning (September 19), Bieber reacted to the nods on Twitter, writing, "Just got word that we got 3 MTV EMA Nominations for Best Male, Best Pop, Biggest Fans!! THANKS SO MUCH! LEt's VOTE!!!"
Well, those fans better take note. Beliebers voting in the Biggest Fans category will face off against his girlfriend Selena Gomez's followers, Thirty Second to Mars' devotees, Paramore's biggest admirers and, of course, Lady Gaga's Monsters.
